Sports Page

As usual, I suffered delusions of grandeur when I envisioned myself creating a sports page for each child during a very busy week. Instead it has taken me a few weeks to finally finish and post this ridiculously simple one of Isabel's softball team.  Oh, well...every little layout helps!

So, Amy, what is the next scrapbook challenge?

Sports Pages

It was a rushed scrapping session, but I did manage to get a couple of layouts done of the boys and their soccer teams. The one of Kendall was one that I already had mostly done so it almost doesn't count but at least it's finally done. This was from his very first soccer season when he was about 5 years old. He was so tiny that his XS uniform came nearly to his ankles! It was so cute to watch him though. Of all of my kids, Kendall is the most crazy for soccer. This next one is from Taylor's soccer season during 2nd grade so he would have been 7. At that time he still spent most of his time studying bugs in the grass and running AWAY from the ball. Every year it was a battle to get through the season but when it came time to sign up again, he always wanted to. A few years later he found that he actually did come to enjoy playing. Just in time to be too old for the rec teams!
Looking at these pictures, I just can't believe how fast these years have gone!

A Layout for Lynnsey

Well, I was incredibly short on time but I did manage to do a very simple five page layout of Lynnsey's one year (which actually were more like one and a half year) photos. I'm definitely excited to get back into this again. It felt so good to be surrounded by supplies and scraps and the challenge of piecing things together again.

Back into Scrapping!

I had so much fun this week!  I neglected a lot of housework but I had a great time getting back into scrapbooking!  I came out with a layout for each kid, each of them using a little quote and lots of letter stickers.

Here they are:

This is Isabel at 2 1/2 sitting by the azalea bush at our old house.  (I miss my azaleas!)

Here is Cecily at almost 3.  We were outside waiting for Isabel's school bus to get home.  Both girls had new dresses I'd gotten super cheap at Walmart and they were so cute.

This is Bentley a couple springs ago.  We had taken one of the first warm days to go for a nature walk and of course he managed to get dirty!  The "Boy" definition was just too perfect with these pictures.

And here is Lydia in her flower costume her first Halloween.  I took a TON of pictures of her in this costume because it was just sooooo cute.

My Scrapbook "Room"

With 5 kids, 4 bedrooms, and a very unfinished basement, craft space is in short supply around here. I have had to confine all my supplies to one wall of a closet in Taylor's room (he loves me coming in rooting through the closet all the time!) But with my stockpiling tendencies, my supplies were spilling over into all the other areas of the closet too. Luckily Kalen gave me this handy dandy organizer on wheels for Christmas. I spent about 3 days cleaning out the entire closet and another 2 days on just the craft area. This little cart isn't big, but I managed to fit a ton of stuff inside of it. Now when I'm planning a big scrap session, I can just roll the whole cart out to the table and have nearly everything I need. For quicker sessions I can easily find what I need for a layout because things are much more organized. The bottom of the closet is still needing a bit of help. I also keep my silk flowers and all the stuff I need for making hair clips in this area plus some shipping supplies for when I happen to sell something on Etsy plus all the rest of the scrapbook stuff that wouldn't fit on the shelves or in the rolling cart.
I bought a few more photo boxes at Michael's a few weeks ago to store all the photos in that I haven't gotten into albums yet. They used to be in shoe boxes of varying sizes but they didn't stack well and were always toppling over. The uniform size of these makes stacking and storing much easier, plus they are way cuter.

And that's about it. Someday I hope to have a craft room of my very own, but at least for now I have somewhere to store things. Now I just need to use them all up.

Scrap Space

So how did you do this week, Amy?  I did okay.  I got my desk cleared off, at least.  I still have tons of bags of paraphernalia (you'll see in the pictures) that need to be sorted into photo sleeves and albums.  However, the desk is clear and I'm ready to scrap!

So on to the challenge for this week...Amy, I'll let you issue this week's challenge.  Maybe we can alternate weeks coming up with it.

Challenge

Okay, Amy, it is time to get down to business here.  I need to start scrapping again and apparently I can't do it without some outside motivation!

So, this week, I challenge you (and me too obviously) to get the scrapbook area organized and ready to go so that next week we can start in on layouts.

I will report back next weekend on my progress and possibly post a picture of my scrapbook area.  Do you accept the challenge?  Will you get your scrapbook supplies organized this week?
